Harbor Freight has the best prices on woodworking and metalworking tools including routers, cutout tools, and lathes. Comparable to the JessEm Mast-R-Lift II but at a more affordable pricing point, the Rout-R-Lift II router lift is made with a phenolic plate rather than anodized aluminum and also has smaller elevation measurements. It is 120V ( I have a 120V supply in my workshop) and it cost $171 for the Router motor and fixed base (with built in lift). I couldn't find this model in Australia so I bought it from the USA. It simply consists of a recessed hex head that can be accessed from above the table and which is connected to the same height adjusting shaft as the depth knob on the router. Position the insert on your router table, centered from side to side, and far enough from the tables front edge to allow for a miter-gauge slot and an adequate work area. It is a delight to use and the built in Router Lift is such a ridiculously simple design I can't understand why every other manufacturer doesn't do the same. I'm having issues with the microadjust mechanism on the fixed base and I'm thinking of upgrading to a lift, but I can't really spend more than 200 on it. For Rockler or Bench Dog router tables, choose 52429, which has a 8-1/4 x 11-3/4 plate. Currently, I have a Bosch 1617 router mounted in a Bosch 1181 table attached to my table saw.
